Submissions
The MAC exhibition is a biennial juried exhibition of Canadian mosaic artists. We invite all Canadian MAC members, living in Canada or abroad, to submit work for consideration. The next exhibition will be in 2025.

1. Best in Show: work receiving the highest collective grade from the jury.
2. Innovation: work that best shows experimentation in the art of mosaics.
3. Emerging Artist: an individual award for a novice/new mosaicist making quick progress.
4. Juror's Choice (3): an individual award of merit chosen by each juror.
5. Viewer's Choice: an award chosen by those people attending the opening reception.

Open to all Canadian mosaic artists, living in Canada or abroad, who are members of MAC. Volunteers of MAC Exhibitions are eligible to submit work to the exhibition. All artwork is adjudicated by the jury without them knowing the name of the artist.
All artwork must be the artist's original design. No reproduction of Roman or contemporary mosaics will be accepted. Copied works or studies of other works will not be accepted. Works using copyright images or copyright free images will not be considered.
Artwork started in a workshop or mosaic course with an instructor will not be eligible.
Artists that submit artwork that is deemed ineligible will be notified why it is ineligible.
MAC and the jury will not give feedback on the jurors’ decisions on any submission.

Each entry must fall under the category of Wall Hanging Mosaic, 3D Mosaic or Micro Mosaic. Wall Hanging Mosaics are mounted on a vertical wall and 3D Mosaics are free standing, on the floor, a plinth, or hung from the ceiling.
Submitted work can be no more than 23 kg (50 lbs).
Each artists may submit up to 3 mosaics.
Submissions are to have been created within the past two years.
Submissions cannot have previously been in a juried MAC exhibition.

The cost of the first submission is $35.00. Any additional submissions are $15.00 each.
Payments are made through the Artcall website via Strike

Photos of the artwork are submitted online and the jurors will make their choices based on the photographs of the artwork. Therefore it is very important to have high quality photographs.
All submitted images should be formatted as jpeg files. Images should be sized at 2600 pixels on the long side of the image at 300 dpi.
Three images per entry will be allowed. The primary image must include the frame if there is a frame around the mosaic and be a straight on image of the entire mosaic. The other images may be close-up images or an image from another angle if it is a 3D mosaic.
Please do not have the artist's name in the jpeg file name do have the title in the jpeg file name. Each individual image must be less than 10 MB.
Video submission is highly recommended for 3D Submissions along with the two images.

Video Submissions must be no larger than 25 mb.
Video length 60 seconds or shorter
1. Video at 1080p HD at 30 frames per second (this is the default setting)
- On iphone go to Settings > Camera> Record Video> 1080p HD at 30FPS
- On Android go to Camera > Settings > Resolution> 1080p HD
2. File types:
.MOV - is the default iphone/iMovie output)
.MP4 – is the default windows 10 Video Editor output.
3. Video in a Landscape orientation
4. No sound (can be muted after video)
5. File Name: Artwork Title ie: “Sunrise_Moose”.mov”
